First, I create a model using oil-based clay, which does not dry out, allowing me to shape the sculpture until I am satisfied with the result.
Once I am content with the model, I cover it with wood glue to preserve its form for the next stage of the process.
Next, the sculpture is placed in a sand mold, and the sand is compressed around it to create a mold.
Once the sand has hardened, the sculpture is removed, leaving a cavity that matches the sculpture's shape. The bronze is then heated to its melting point, and the molten bronze is carefully poured into the sand mold.
After the bronze has solidified, the sand is removed from around the sculpture, and the sculpture is now cast in bronze.
The final stage of the process involves several hours of grinding, polishing, and patination, giving the sculpture its elegant, finished look.
